Tom Gates Everything's Amazing by Liz Pichon

Tom Gates is a good book and it's about a boy who writes down his daily life with his sister Delia, his family and friends.  His best mate is called Derek and Derek's dog is called Rooster.  Rooster eats anything and everything.  Everything and anything.
His worst enemy aka the most annoying boy in his school is Marcus Mildrew.
Tom loves doodling in class behind the teachers back and calls Derek's teacher Mrs Worthington, Mrs Worthingtash because, to him, she has a slightly furry upper lip.
I would recommend this book because it is very, very funny and I have laughed out loud at some parts.

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart

This is a book about four children with unusual talents.  Their names are Reynie, George (his nickname is Sticky), Kate and Constance.  They get sent to the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened and they are greeted by two executives called Jillson and Jackson.

It was very exciting when they find out that Mr Curtain, the Head, is plotting to 'brainsweep' people which means to wipe away their memories.
The children have to defeat Mr Curtain and dismantle the brainsweeping machine - The Whisperer.
If you love adventure and mystery stories, then this is for you!
